Lapis is a Croatian brand of designer and artistic jewelry, and it is signed by the married couple Suzana Jagar-Vrkić and Emilio Vrkić. They started their fashion and artistic story in 1994 when they met, and in 1999. open the LAPIS gallery at Tkalčićeva 32 in Zagreb, where they exhibit and sell their works to this day.
Suzana Jagar Vrkić studied Indology and Philosophy, so many of her works are inspired by ancient civilizations and the search for meaning, the Source. She attended sculpture classes with prof. Nikola Pečka, ceramics by Mirjana Rajković (POU). She is completing a program for the design of contemporary jewelry with Davor Šuk (POU) and a course in making art jewelry with Lazer Lumezi (Open Studio Lumezi).
She is a member of ULUPUH.

Unique design
Emilio Vrkić studied the making of lamps, mirrors and jewelry in the tiffany technique in the studio of Zoran Viceban and finished photography in POU.
For the past 27 years, Emilio and Suzana, using various making techniques, create unique creations. of timeless character and recognizable design. The materials most commonly used are recycled silver, copper and brass, combining them with semi-precious stones, corals, pearls, and often pebbles from the beach.
Inspiration
As born creatives, they are inspired by literally everything: life, fashion, music … and most of the collections were inspired by the nature with which they are constantly surrounded. This is how the collections “Clean” inspired by the wild beach of the same name on the island of Pag, “Dragonfly”, inspired by dragonflies, “Butterflies”, “Petals”, “Wild roses”, “Flowers” and “Aquarell” inspired by flowers, which is a common motif runs through their entire opus and by which they became recognizable
